Rebates & Sales, First Lines, Easy Commute #writestuff #caffeinateme

Good morning everyone! *sips coffee* After a few days in the eighties, we're back to gray skies, chilly temps and rain here in the countryside. It's all good though, because rainy days make for good writing, and boy do I have writing to do! News of the day is that there's a 25% rebate going on over at All Romance eBooks. Great tie to pick up books and earn book bucks for later. – Oh, and since I messed up my sale over there the other day, Cranberry Pi is still only $1 until Sunday. And since you get the rebate on that, too… well, how can anyone pass up a deal like that?

First off though, please allow me to share of what's been distracting me with you. This one is a fun quiz I saw on Facebook: "First Lines of M/M Novels". Melanie at Scattered Thoughts and Rogue Words came up with this, and the answers are being posted Sunday, so you should take a look now and see if you can guess any of them before then.

Then, when I got through trying to find all those, I stumbled over this… Waiting for Clark.
When Bryce Weyland agrees to go to a comic convention dressed as a superhero, the last person he expects to see is his one-time best friend (and hopeless crush), Clark Kenmore. But Clark is impossible not to notice—he’s wearing spandex tights, a rainbow cape and the same disarming smile that haunts Bryce's dreams.
Given my upcoming superhero release, how could I resist that red herring?

On Thursday this week I crawled in Bed with Victoria Sue Crawl in Bed to discuss her new book, and boy… did she turn the tables on me. Read that interview here.

And on Monday the Superhero Blog Tour with Havan Fellows starts. That was set up by the fabulous Will at Pride Promotions. Check here on Sunday for the blog links, and throughout the week. We're giving away secrets, and gift cards. That's celebrating the releases of A Man of Unusual Talent and Flyboy's First Misadventure.

Good news, I've finally finished the last PF book, Dead Money, and it is with the editor now. Her initial feedback was encouraging. Havan and I are still writing away on the holiday story, over 43K at the moment, and looking to add about six more chapters before we send that off to the editor as well. Mum's the Word is late this week, I'll probably end up posting twice next week to make up for it. I've had to set it aside to deal with the deadlines for Pulp Friction and the holiday story.

And those deadlines are very real, so I'd best get myself to work. Isn't it convenient that my office is in the kitchen, next to the coffee pot? The commute is so easy…

Crawl in Bed WIth Victoria Sue #authorinterview #malexmale #pridepromotions

Crawling Into Bed With Victoria Sue (Actually you won’t – I brought Darric with me – I’m sure you’d prefer him, Lee. I’ll just go and stand and perve in the corner)

*flabbergasted* Uh... Okay. Well, this is a surprising turn of events. *eyes Darric with interest* *clears throat* Important things first, are these sheets silk or cotton?

Darric: It doesn’t matter, because they won’t be covering us for very long, and once you feel my hands on your skin and my warm breath on your face; you won’t be aware of anything else.
*swallows hard* Uh... *eyes Victoria Sue* Um... I had another question... Where are my notes? Oh... yes. So, what are you wearing?

Darric: “Close your eyes and give me your hands. There…skin? That’s what the best males are wearing these days. Conner has all these clothes, but after all – clothes are just a barrier, and I don’t want anything between us.”

Why do people keep thinking this interview is clothing optional? *Aside to Victoria Sue- How did you sneak a naked man in here? * What are we snacking on in bed while we read tonight?
Darric: (trails a finger down Lee’s face) “What are you hungry for?”

*pushes finger gently away* Actually, I'm on a diet, so... back on track. If I open this nightstand drawer, what will I find?

Darric: “Scented oils. I am very skilled with my hands, my mouth, my tongue…”

Oh really? Can you touch the tip of your nose with your tongue? My cousin used to do that. *coughs* Do you roll up in the blankets like a burrito, or kick the covers off during the night?

Darric: “I go to bed with three men. Covers are never necessary, we keep each other warm.”

Somehow, I think you warm things up everywhere you go. Can I put my cold feet on your calves to warm them up?

“Let me use the oil on them, they won’t be cold for long. I am used to warming things with my hands.”

Oh will you look at that? I brought my wool socks. Thanks for the offer, but... *dons socks quickly* What are we reading?

Eternal Circle, Sirius’ Wolves #3

How can you repair something that should have been unbreakable? Darric, Blaze and Conner had been together for centuries, and their bond, like their love, should have been eternal. Blaze is trying not only to hold his family together, but stop himself falling apart.
The fragile relationship between the werewolves and the humans is at risk once more, and the goddess Sirius seems to have deserted them. Inexplicable changes are taking place to their little omega, and whilst Aden’s powers are increasing, Conner seems to be losing his.
The terrorist group, The Winter Circle, is getting bolder and placing everyone in danger. Worse, there is a traitor among them, perhaps someone a lot closer than they want to admit. Just when Blaze thought the worst that could have happened is behind them, the traitor is revealed, and Blaze realizes that their circle is not only broken, but in danger of being irreparably torn apart.

Excerpt:

According to legend the goddess Sirius gifted humankind with powerful werewolf shifters, to bring balance and peace to the planet that both species called home – Earth.
The great god Orion was pleased with his wife’s final efforts, and the werewolves he allowed to be created showed such equal amounts of strength and compassion that humans were awed and showed their gratitude by adding a full five feast days to their calendar to commemorate them. The days were named after the five oldest gods: Osiris, Heru, Set, Isis, and Nephthys.
But one god was jealous. Anubis had worked tirelessly for years weighing the hearts of the dead for their goodness, and granting the dead passage into heaven or escorting them to hell. He was incensed that the ungrateful humans didn’t show him proper homage, and decided to sabotage the plans that Sirius had made.
He couldn’t stop Sirius’ creation but decided that some of the wolves would be given the gifts that the dead laid at Anubis’ feet, as a way for them to barter their fate. These were special attributes, the ones that enabled humans to navigate their way to hell, and the ones that wolves weren’t naturally born with.
Anubis sat back after his efforts and smiled. For every wolf and human born with strength and compassion, there would be one born with hate, greed, and jealousy. Some strong, some weak. Mostly the gifts of strength and compassion would win, but every so often a wolf would find hate, and greed, and grow strong and powerful with it. Anubis had cunning and had to do this out of sight of Orion. The great god just had his wife, Sirius, returned to him, and Anubis could not do anything that would risk his wrath. No, he had to work stealthily, as if Sirius’ creation had gone bad all on its own and he had no hand in it. Anubis watched as the gods all agreed there could be no more interference in human lives and he smiled. His own creations would bring down the werewolves and they would infect others. Anubis had patience and could wait for those days, for they would be glorious.

Now Available! Telling the Truth (Truth or Dare #2) #malexmale #truthordare

New Release!

Good morning everyone! *sips coffee* I am excited to announce today that the second edition of Telling the Truth, Truth or Dare #2 is now available at ebook retailers. This is the story of the second youngest Blake, Terry and the the twins, Dex and Trick, Mischa's friends. Pick up your copy today!

Paying his debt for a losing hand of cards sets Terry Blake free to pursue a fantasy he never dreamed could be reality.

Terry lives his life according to guidelines…study accounting, get an MBA, and work for the family business. And while handling the family and business finances is rewarding, something has been missing.
When a losing hand on poker night forces Terry to answer his brother’s question with Truth, he’s unable to hide behind his pristine reputation and fancy business suit. Terry is honor-bound to divulge secrets he’s been ashamed to admit even to himself in the privacy of his own bedroom.
Dex and Trick have finally found acceptance for their relationship in the homes of their friends. They would never do anything to jeopardize that newfound sense of belonging. Fooling around with Mischa’s prissy, domineering, and oh-so-sexy older brother is too risky.
Terry isn’t going to take their dismissal without a fight. He’s convinced Dex and Trick are meant to be his, and he’ll do whatever it takes to make them realize all the safety and protection they might need can be found in his arms.

Excerpt:

This lovely couple was really getting into their embrace now, and since no one else seemed to notice, Terry felt kind of included, almost as though he were participating in the act instead of witnessing it. He could practically feel the sweep of tongues in his mouth, the touch of two sets of hands tracing his shoulders, his abdomen. Damn, he really wished he had Dan’s bold personality or Mischa’s rebellious streak. He’d be over there in a heartbeat taking his share of kisses.

Down boy, he whispered to his newly overactive libido. Baby steps; we’ll get there eventually. Jumping from mild-mannered straight accountant to gay threesome in seconds made for too drastic a change.

“Terry? Are you all right? Do you need a drink or something?”

Damn. Somehow Mischa had walked up and knelt next to him without him noticing.

“I’m fine. Fine. It’s a little hot here, that’s all.” Terry spoke, but he didn’t look at Mischa. He knew his voice sounded hoarse, but couldn’t do anything about it. The best he could hope for was that Mischa wouldn’t notice the rather large bulge under his hands. Thinking rapidly, he sought a distraction for his far too-astute younger brother. He whipped his head around to look at the outdoor kitchen. “Think there’s a burger ready yet?”

“I’ll check with Donovan for you.” Humming under his breath, Mischa rose and headed off toward the grill. As he strolled past Dan on his way to the outdoor kitchen, Dan rose and joined him. Terry watched as his two brothers spoke briefly. Dan turned a curious gaze in Terry’s direction, and he studiously ignored it.

Satisfied after a few moments that both of his brothers were thinking of other things, he turned his attention back to what he’d come to think of as his own little porn show. Startled, he found himself staring directly into two pairs of bright blue eyes. The temptation to look away was an old habit that he’d have to work hard to break. He forced his eyes to maintain the connection, smiled hesitantly, and tipped his head in acknowledgment that he’d been busted true to rights, staring at a tender moment that should have been private.

Something in his expression must have met with approval, because both faces broke into wide smiles and the two young men nodded back.
